Our solutions

Fabritechs offers a comprehensive suite of cutting-edge solutions for metal welding, encompassing 3D laser welding, laser welding, and low-impact laser welding. Our solutions epitomize the synergy of advanced technology and meticulous craftsmanship in metal welding.

Laser welding

Fabritechs stands as a global frontrunner in employing laser technology to weld solid and hollow steel as well as stainless steel profiles. The components of these profiles, predominantly laser- or plasma-cut flat strips, can also include other solid shapes such as rounds and squares or finished hollow profiles like tubes. Our welding process, executed with powerful lasers and devoid of filler material, results in remarkably small weld seams. Our capabilities extend to welding virtually all commercially available mild, carbon, and stainless steels.

Laser-fused profiles typically exhibit a superior surface finish compared to hot-rolled or extruded products, thanks to the use of high-quality hot-rolled plate for raw material components. Following the welding process, the sections undergo straightening and are subjected to sandblasting. In the case of stainless steel, a pickling or passivation process is applied to eliminate any impurities resulting from the welding process. For hollow, angle, and channel sections, external welds are removed prior to sandblasting, ensuring that welds become imperceptible, resulting in profiles with smooth and flat surfaces.

3D Laser welding

Depending on the properties of the requested product, the system selectively operates in either Laser-alone or Laser-hybrid mode. In the 3D Laser-hybrid welding mode, an arc welding device is integrated with the laser fusion torch, enhancing the characteristics of a conventional arc-welded product.

This approach offers several advantages, including reduced distortion of the welded component due to lower heat input, improved gap-bridging ability at high process speeds, and deeper weld penetration. The laser-hybrid mode engages when the gap between the parts to be welded is too large for the Laser-alone mode. Larger gaps typically occur in scenarios where the joining zone lacks precision, such as when welding hot-rolled or extruded pre-shapes together.

Low impact laser welding

Tailored for premium stainless steel architecture and design applications, these products have undergone specific development. By limiting weld penetration to 1.5 mm through a specialized low-heat and splatter-free laser beam, nearly any profile design becomes achievable at a budget-friendly cost.

The remarkable design flexibility, functional optimization, and high precision make these new products a favored choice among architects. They are particularly well-suited for creating visually striking and representative steel curtain walls, canopies, and various other applications. Our offering includes captivating standard and custom profiles, primarily crafted from stainless steel 304/304L and 316/316L, with the option for other alloys upon request.

QUALITY

All profiles made by Fabritechs undergo a rigorous quality protocol featuring continuous checks using specialized measuring equipment throughout the entire manufacturing process. The products and the process have gained approval from various external authorities, including TÜV (German Technical Inspectorate), and adhere to standards such as EN ISO 13919-1, EN ISO 15614-1, EN ISO 15609-1, and ASTM A276, A479, and A484. In 2017, Fabritechs laser-fused profiles officially attained the product standard ASTM 1069.
