Laser welding
Fabritechs stands as a global frontrunner in employing laser technology to weld solid and hollow steel as well as stainless steel profiles. The components of these profiles, predominantly laser- or plasma-cut flat strips, can also include other solid shapes such as rounds and squares or finished hollow profiles like tubes. Our welding process, executed with powerful lasers and devoid of filler material, results in remarkably small weld seams. Our capabilities extend to welding virtually all commercially available mild, carbon, and stainless steels.
Laser-fused profiles typically exhibit a superior surface finish compared to hot-rolled or extruded products, thanks to the use of high-quality hot-rolled plate for raw material components. Following the welding process, the sections undergo straightening and are subjected to sandblasting. In the case of stainless steel, a pickling or passivation process is applied to eliminate any impurities resulting from the welding process. For hollow, angle, and channel sections, external welds are removed prior to sandblasting, ensuring that welds become imperceptible, resulting in profiles with smooth and flat surfaces.
